The ICA is a worldwide association of Christian chaplains, specialized ministry; where chaplains serve not in a church, nor in a congregation, but to the public at large. We are there to listen, care, and respond appropriately, for such is the nature of the chaplaincy.
We, Christian chaplains, are committed to seeking the will of the Lord our God in our lives and in our faithful dedication to the service of Jesus Christ. We are united together to constantly renew our commitment to a deeper understanding of serving those in need. We adhere to, cleave to, trust to have faith in, and rely on the Lord Jesus Christ for all guidance in responding to the needs of those we serve.
Professional membership with the ICA attests to both competence and endorsement for the chaplain ministry. Membership is for all Christian clergy who are in agreement with our affirmation of faith and ethical statement. Our mission is to create a professional association for chaplains and to establish professional guidelines in the practice of this specialized ministry. The standards we have developed help to ensure skilled and effective Christian chaplains.
